Record Participation in DU Admissions 2026

Delhi University has recorded its highest participation since the CSAS portal was introduced in 2022. A total of 2,73,751 candidates registered, while 2,18,284 completed Phase I and 2,08,043 submitted and locked their preference forms.

The university is offering 71,624 undergraduate seats across 73 programmes in 69 participating colleges and departments. This means nearly three candidates are competing for every available undergraduate seat during the current admission cycle.

What Candidates Should Do After Receiving a Seat

Candidates satisfied with their allocation should accept it immediately instead of waiting until the final hours. They should also regularly monitor the admission dashboard for document queries raised by the allotted college.

Students seeking a higher preference in later rounds should carefully review the available upgrade and freeze options before making a selection. Choosing to freeze an allocation generally indicates that the candidate wishes to retain the allotted seat and does not want to participate in an upgrade, subject to DU’s CSAS rules.
