Delhi Technological University (DTU) has announced the launch of integrated programmes in Data Science and Applied Statistics for its BTech students. The new academic initiative is designed to equip engineering students with advanced analytical, statistical, and computational skills that are increasingly sought after across industries. The programmes will be available from the 2026–27 academic session.
The university stated that the integrated curriculum has been developed to meet the growing demand for professionals skilled in artificial intelligence, machine learning, big data analytics, and statistical modelling. By combining engineering education with modern data science concepts, DTU aims to prepare students for technology-driven careers in sectors such as finance, healthcare, manufacturing, consulting, and information technology.
Students enrolled in eligible BTech programmes will have the opportunity to pursue these integrated courses alongside their engineering studies. The curriculum is expected to include interdisciplinary learning, practical projects, industry exposure, and research-oriented coursework to help students develop both technical expertise and problem-solving abilities.
DTU has been expanding its academic offerings in line with evolving industry requirements, with a greater emphasis on emerging technologies and multidisciplinary education. The introduction of these programmes reflects the university's efforts to bridge the gap between conventional engineering education and the rapidly growing demand for data-driven decision-making skills.
The integrated programmes are intended for eligible BTech students admitted to DTU through JEE Main, subject to the university's academic regulations and programme-specific eligibility criteria.
