These are officially published tentative dates, not a final individual appointment. Registration, correction, city information, admit cards and results require separate notices. Session 2 dates are not supplied in that calendar. Students should monitor the JEE Main portal and save new notifications as they appear instead of relying on a predicted application deadline.

Eligibility Criteria

Qualification and eligible passing years

• Qualification: A recognised Class 12 or equivalent examination is the academic starting point.
• 2027 passing-year window: Await confirmation in the new bulletin. The 2026 reference allowed 2024/2025 pass-outs and 2026 appearing students.
• Age: The latest available examination rules did not impose an age limit; institutions may have separate conditions.

Subjects and admission marks

• Engineering: Check Physics, Mathematics and the remaining qualifying-subject combination in the admission rules.
• Architecture and planning: Verify the separate academic subjects required for the selected paper and degree.
• NIT+ reference rule: The 2026 guidance required 75% in the specified five subjects, or category-wise top 20 percentile; the percentage threshold was 65% for SC/ST/PwD candidates.
• 2027 admission: Recheck JoSAA/CSAB requirements, category documents and the qualifying-year conditions.

The board-mark admission condition is separate from basic permission to sit JEE Main. Selecting a paper in the form does not by itself prove eligibility for a degree or guarantee a college seat.

Application Process

1. Use the registration link on NTA's official JEE Main website once the 2027 application window opens. Read the new bulletin first, then register with your own contact details and complete the prescribed identity-verification steps. Choose the required paper, medium and available examination-city preferences carefully.
2. Enter school and personal details exactly as supported by your documents. Upload the required images and certificates in the current formats, complete the fee payment and save the confirmation page. Check that the chosen session and paper are correctly recorded before considering the application complete.
3. Track scrutiny messages, correction notices and the next session's registration instructions. A correction window may permit only specified changes. Keep the application number and receipt accessible throughout results and counselling. Avoid a duplicate application to fix an error; follow NTA's stated process. Students planning multiple sessions should use the official continuation procedure when it is announced.

The 2027 fee schedule is awaiting its bulletin. As a 2026 reference for one paper in one session at an Indian centre: General male applicants paid ₹1,000; General female applicants ₹800; EWS/OBC-NCL male applicants ₹900 and female applicants ₹800; SC/ST/PwD/PwBD and third-gender applicants ₹500. Multiple-paper and overseas-centre charges differed. These historical figures support budgeting only and must not be treated as confirmed 2027 fees. Exam Pattern

Under the latest 2026 format, Paper 1 had 75 questions for 300 marks across Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, with a standard duration of three hours. Each subject contained multiple-choice and numerical-answer questions. A correct response earned four marks, an incorrect response lost one mark and an unanswered question received zero, including the numerical section.

Paper 2A and Paper 2B have separate aptitude, drawing or planning components, so their question counts and combined-paper durations should be checked independently. The 2027 bulletin will confirm the final pattern and any changes.

For preparation, practise the computer interface as well as the subject content. Learn the difference between leaving a question unanswered and recording an answer for review. Use timed mocks that match the applicable paper, and check approved compensatory-time arrangements if relevant. Do not carry an older optional-question structure into a mock plan without verifying the current rules.

Syllabus

Physics preparation should connect concepts with calculations. Build a foundation in mechanics, heat and thermodynamics, waves, electricity and magnetism, optics and modern physics, then check the official unit list for exact inclusion. Solve problems with units and signs written clearly so that formula recall does not replace understanding.

Chemistry work should balance physical, inorganic and organic areas. Revise calculations, atomic and molecular ideas, periodic behaviour, bonding and reaction principles through the official syllabus and appropriate school texts. Organic preparation benefits from understanding why a reaction occurs rather than memorising disconnected products.

Mathematics revision should include algebra, coordinate geometry, calculus, trigonometric ideas, vectors, three-dimensional geometry and probability where prescribed. Practise identifying the method before performing a lengthy calculation.

These are broad preparation areas based on the latest available framework, not a substitute for the 2027 syllabus. Architecture and planning candidates need the additional aptitude, drawing or planning topics for their selected paper. Once the new documents arrive, compare them with your checklist and remove outdated topics or add new ones. Mark each unit for concept revision, problem practice and timed review.

Admit Card

NTA will announce the JEE Main 2027 admit-card schedule separately. Download the document from the official candidate portal for your allotted session and date. Check your paper, centre address, reporting time and accepted identity proof immediately. Carry the required printed admit card and any photograph or additional declaration specified in the final instructions. Follow current permitted-item and accessibility rules. A city-intimation slip helps with travel planning but does not replace the hall ticket. Use the actual allotted date rather than a broad calendar window.

Result & Scorecard

NTA publishes JEE Main results and scorecards through its official examination portal. The reported NTA score is a percentile-based measure, so it should not be read as the percentage of raw marks. Follow the current rules for combining sessions, rank preparation and tie resolution. The 2027 result dates have not yet been notified in the calendar reviewed. Save the final scorecard and rank information for that admission cycle. A previous year's score should not be assumed valid for fresh counselling unless the accepting authority explicitly permits it.

Cutoff & Counselling

The JEE Advanced eligibility cutoff and a college's closing rank are different measures. The former identifies candidates meeting the applicable route towards Advanced; the latter reflects admission competition for a programme, quota, category and round. Students should compare the correct data rather than assume a qualifying percentile guarantees a particular branch.

For participating NIT+ institutions, monitor JoSAA and, where applicable, CSAB. State counselling systems and universities may run separate applications using JEE Main ranks. Entrance registration does not automatically register a student for any of these systems.

Read the current business rules before submitting choices. Build preferences around courses you want, verified academic eligibility, budget and location. Keep school marksheets, scorecard, identity proof and applicable category documents ready. Respond to verification queries and pay required acceptance charges by the published deadline. Participating Colleges

JEE Main is used by NITs, IIITs, other participating government-funded technical institutions and many universities or state admission systems. The exact route depends on the college and course. IIT undergraduate admission normally requires the applicable JEE Advanced route rather than a JEE Main score alone.

Use official JoSAA/CSAB lists and the target institution's prospectus to check programme availability and seat information. An institute may offer several branches with very different closing ranks and academic content. Compare curriculum, facilities, fees, accommodation and location alongside the entrance rank. For colleges outside the central seat-allocation system, confirm the separate form and deadline. Verify 2027 intake rather than copying a previous year's total seats.

Preparation Tips

1. Start with a topic checklist and a realistic weekly schedule across all three engineering subjects. Study a concept, solve a small set without assistance and review errors before moving to the next chapter. Maintain formula notes with units and conditions rather than long lists you cannot apply.
2. Use previous questions to understand difficulty and recurring reasoning styles, then take mixed timed tests. Analyse incorrect answers and questions that took too long. Track avoidable mistakes such as a missed sign, wrong unit or hasty reading of the question. Keep school-board requirements in view, because admission may depend on the qualifying result as well as rank.
